IMGroups users with other IM tools other than MSN and aMSN will find that their nickname in the group will be shown correctly!

Since IMGroups service compatible with multi IM tools, we got feedback that some users’ nickname in the group cannot be shown normally but showing “Group name”, this have caused inconvenience for group users.

According to our former announcement, this problem is caused because most IM tools do not support MSN Protocol “P4-context” , only Windows Live Messenger (2009 or lower version ) and aMSN support it.

But after many days work, we will update this feature today.  After update, IMGroups users with other IM tools will see their own nickname in the group correctly.

2.    Users with Microsoft Messenger for Mac (Mac OS) 2007 version and 2008 beta4 version will find that the problem still exists.  We are trying to solve it and hope to release it soon.

• You can enjoy group chat on WEB! Visiting the overview page of each group, you can chat with other group members in the page.
• If your friends do not have Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger or Google Talk account, we provide more chat tools now.  After this upgrade, groups.im service will support 15 chat tools, including Facebook, Twitter, AOL, Myspace, Linkedin, Hyves, LIVE JOURNAL, Blogger, WordPress, Flickr, OpenID and myOpenID.  (but only use for group chat on WEB)
• Optimize the process of creating group and joining  group, you can easily do these operations now.
• Are you a CEO or Admin of a group? We make some improvements about the group permission and privacy system during this upgrade.  You can choose the group permission in four different ways, and you can also control the visit permission for each page of the group page.
